On January 18, 2017 at the Olympic village in Ashgabat the press conference was organized dedicated to the V Asian Games indoors and martial arts, to be held from 17 to 27 September 2017 at the capital of Turkmenistan. The press conference was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sport, the Executive Committee for the preparation of V Asian Games and the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan.
The press conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sport, the staff of the Executive Committee for the preparation of the V Asian Games and the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan, diplomats and foreign journalists accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of mass media of Turkmenistan as well as students of a number of higher educational institutions of the capital.
At the opening ceremony of the press conference the expert of the National Olympic Committee of S.Durdyev made welcoming remarks and made presentation on “Implementation and development of the Olympic Movement in Turkmenistan under the leadership of our esteemed President”. Next, the representative of the Executive Committee for the preparation of the V Asian Games familiarized the participants with the ongoing arrangements for V Asian Games, using international experience. Specialist of the State Committee on Sports of Turkmenistan spoke about the preparation of the Turkmen athletes to the international test competitions to be held in 2017.
The representative of the company “Polimex” provided information on the construction work carried out in the buildings of the Olympic Village in Ashgabat – the venue of the V Asian Games. CEO of «Trivandi Chanzo limited» made a presentation on “Planning for major international sporting events.”
During the question-answer session the sides also discussed a wide range of topical issues in the field of organization of major sporting events. At the press conference, journalists have received exhaustive answers to all their questions.
